Covering an area of 657.94 sq mi and having a total population of over 0.13 million with an intermingling cohabitation of White, Native American, black or African American, Asian, Hispanic or Latino, Pacific Islander, and others with more than 50K housing units and 35.8K families, Tazewell County was established in 1827. The county has the county seat in Pekin. It was named after Littleton Waller Tazewell, United States Senator from Virginia.
